Dr. Natalie Tindall
Associate Professor, Chair
Department of Communication and Media
Lamar University
 

Dr.  Tindall's research focuses on diversity in organizations, specifically the public relations function, and the situational theory of publics and intersectionality. She has chaired the Public Relations Society of America Diversity Committee, served on the Public Relations Society of America Work, Life & Gender Task Force, and was the 2013-2014 Head of the Public Relations Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. She was elected to the AEJMC Standing Committee for Teaching and continues to serve on the PRSA Diversity Committee, PRSA Work, Life & Gender Task Force, the Delta Research Education Foundation‘s Sister Scholars Advisory Board, and the national executive board of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Dr. Tindall is also the owner of Rock Paper Scissors Consulting and runs The Tenured Entrepreneur blog.

Dias oversees brand, public relations, business development, financial education, advocacy and community engagement initiatives for the $3.5B institution serving over 235,000 members in Northern California. She leads communications for SAFE’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives in the organization’s cultural intelligence journey. A long-time activist, Erica worked in support of the successful passage of SB826, the first bill to require corporations to add women to public boards. She is an adjunct professor teaching courses in HR, economics, entrepreneurship and marketing and trains community leaders on equitable compensation, change management and nonprofit governance. She is Past Chair of 2020 Women on Boards and is a member of the 2020 Class of Leadership California. Dias was the recipient of the 2020 NAWBO Outstanding Woman Leader Executive and 2020 Sacramento Business Journal Women Who Mean Business awards. Erica attended Mills College, holds a BS in economics from Santa Clara University, an MBA from William Jessup University, and a Diversity & Inclusion Certificate from Cornell . She is currently pursuing her doctorate in transformational leadership. She and her spouse live in Northern California and they are the proud parents of five children.

Dr. Samira Salem

Samira has nearly 20 years of experience in international economic development, community development, policy research, and social finance.  She is the new leader of CUNA's DEI initiatives, having previously joined CUNA in 2018 as a Senior Policy Analyst in the Research and Policy Analysis division.  Prior to that, she worked for Forward Community Investments (FCI), a Madison-based community development financial institution (CDFI) that serves communities throughout Wisconsin. Earlier, Samira worked at the U.S. International Trade Commission in Washington D.C. where she was a Senior Trade Analyst for Labor and studied the impact of globalization on U.S. labor market outcomes. Prior to that, she had an eight-year tenure at Washington-based DAI where she was an international economic development specialist.  Samira earned her Ph.D. in Political Economy and Public Policy and her M.A. in Economics from the University of Southern California.
