Each year, the CUNA Finance Council offers scholarships to eligible credit union staff.  The Scholarship Committee will award recipients based on specific scholarship criteria.

Scholarship Options:

Scholarships can be applied to the following programs:

  • CUNA Enterprise Risk Management Certification School  (April 29-May 1, 2019, New Orleans, LA) 
    • Applications and supporting documents must be received by February 15. Applicants will be notified of their application status no later than February 25.
       
  • CUNA CFO Council Conference  (May 19-22, 2019, New York, NY)  
    • Applications and supporting documents must be received by April 12. Applicants will be notified of their application status no later than April 22.
       
  • CUNA Investment Certification School  (August 12-16, 2019, Chicago, IL)
    • Applications and supporting documents must be received by May 24. Applicants will be notified of their application status no later than June 3.
       
  • CUNA Financial Management School  (September 9-12, 2019, Tempe, AZ)
    • Applications and supporting documents must be received by June 21. Applicants will be notified of their application status no later than July 1.
       

Scholarship Information:

Scholarships will be approved prior to attendance of the school, but reimbursed after proof of attendance is provided.

Scholarship recipients of the CUNA Finance Council Conference must stay at the hotel in which the conference takes place.

Each year, the CUNA Finance Council offers scholarships to eligible credit union staff, up to $2,500, and can be used toward combined expenses. The Scholarship subcommittee of the Membership Committee will award scholarships based on certain criteria.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered as a potential scholarship recipient, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Credit union must demonstrate need (as determined by selection committee).
  2. Applicant must be a member of the CUNA Finance Council
  3. Requests must be for the CUNA Finance Council Conference or approved CPD schools.
  4. Must be a full-time employee of your credit union.
  5. Maximum scholarship per year cannot exceed $2,500 per credit union.
  6. Must be from an affiliated credit union.

  • Copy of your credit union’s most recent quarterly financial statement.

Selection Criteria - A scholarship committee, led by Steve Arbaugh, SECU, will select the recipients based on reasons stated on the application form. All decisions are final.
